carcinoid는 hypervascular하며 biopsy하면 bleeding위험이 있다. Octreotide scan이 도움이 된다.
LCNEC나 SCLC는 NE cell hyperplasia와 관련이 없다. carcinoid나 atypical carcinoid는 NE cell hyperplasia와 관련이 있다.
small cell lung cancer는 host immune reaction이 전혀 없다. lymphatics를 따라 거의 동시 다발적으로 자라므로 흡사 lymphoma와 비슷하게 보일 수 있다. bronchus쪽으로는 전혀 자라지 않았다
NE cell은 airway cuboid cell밑에 깔려 있는 Cell이다
