특징적으로 hypoechoic ( high cellularity때문에), doppler에서 high vascular, T2WI에서 high signal intensity를 보인다.
tuber cinerium에 nodularity를 보일때 항상 생각해야 하는 질환은 hypothalamic hamartoma이다. 크기가 작으면 precocious puberty를 일으키고 크면 seizure를 동반하는 경향이 있다. MRI에서 isosignal 을 보이고 조영증강 안된다.
